E.J.G.A. Rules and Regulations The Rules and Etiquette Clinic The rules and etiquette clinic is mandatory for all new E.J.GA members or if you have not been a member for more than two years. At the rules and etiquette clinic, juniors will receive “The Rules of Golf”, a rule book by the U.S.G.A. The clinic will cover the rules of golf, player etiquette, course etiquette, and cheating. We highly recommend the clinic to all juniors and their parents who wish to follow their juniors at the golf tournaments. The only exceptions for not attending the Rules and Etiquette Clinic are:
Dress Code
Boys shall wear shirts with collars or golf type t-shirts and
Girls may
wear collared golf shirts, golf type t-shirts, and or sleeveless shirts
with a collar. All golfers may wear mid-length shorts.
Boys shall wear T-shirts in good taste or shirts with collars and girls
may wear T-shirts in good taste or shirts with collars or sleeveless shirts
with collars. All juniors may wear mid- length shorts. Rules of Play and Rule Violations “The 2006-2007 Rules of Golf”, by the U.S.G.A. will govern all play. Supplemental or local rules will be supplied as needed for each tourney site. The rules committee will be made up by the tourney director, tourney officials, club professionals and their assistants. Rule violation will be determined by the tournament officials and handled as prescribed by the U.S.G.A Rules of Golf, E.J.G.A. Program Rules, E.J.G.A. Golf Director, and the host golf course professional.
Tournament Age Divisions Juniors will compete in their age groups based on their age as of August 9, 2006. If any junior wishes and is approved by the E.J.G.A. may play up an age group. Example 10-11 year old boy may play as a 12-13 year old boy. Boys: 16-18 14-15 12-13 10-11 7-9 5-6 Girls: 12-14 15-16 17-18 / 5-6 7-9 10-11 Tee Time Information Tee Time will be posted on the Web Site 2 Days prior to the Tournament. Weather Rain or Stormy Weather Please look for the latest tournament information on the Bulletin Board that will be located on the Home Page of the E.J.G.A. Website at WWW.EJGAINFO.COM In the event of in-climate weather in the area call Michael Harper at 812-459-3259 Sometimes tourneys will not be cancelled but just operate off of a delay of some sort or maybe the number of holes in the round may be shortened.Heat Advisories From time to time, Juniors will be playing under a heat advisory. Juniors should be prepared, reminded to drink plenty of fluids, and if they cannot complete their round they may walk in at once or ask a E.J.G.A. representative to come in at once. If it is to extreme, the E.J.G.A. reserves the right to cancel or shorten the number of holes juniors are playing. Entries and Tournament Deadlines Entries can be mailed or hand delivered to the E.J.G.A. All entries are due one week prior to the event. The E.J.G.A. is "somewhat relaxed" on tournament deadlines for Pee Wee Tour and Prep Tour Events. The Entries for Masters Series Events are due one week prior to the tournament. The Masters Series deadlines are firm with No -Exceptions
Due to the number of entries, the association recommends you sign up for all the tourneys you wish to play in at once. This should avoid missing a deadline or getting shut out of a tournament that is full. Refunds There will be No Refunds or Entry Transfers in the 2008 E.J.G.A. Golf Session. Any Event that was postponed due to inclement weather will be re-scheduled. Course Care Players are expected to replace their divots. All players must fix their ball marks. Players shall rake bunkers after their shots. The E.J.G.A. has a zero tolerance policy for abuse of the golf course, and will result in automatic disqualification from the E.J.G.A. event without refund. Player Conduct Any conduct detrimental to the reputation of the E.J.G.A , such as club throwing, swearing, and damage to the golf facilities ,will not be tolerated. E.J.G.A. has adopted a Zero Tolerance for such conduct and will result in automatic dismissal from the E.J.G.A. Event without refund. Golf Shoes The E.J.G.A is a spike-less golf association. Players are only permitted to play in soft spikes or tennis shoes. Soft spikes may be purchased at local area golf shops and may be replaced in most steel spiked shoes. No dress shoes or baseball spikes allowed Spectator Guidelines PLEASE COME OUT AND WATCH JUNIORS PLAY ON THEIR OWN. Spectators are encouraged to attend all E.J.G.A. events but asked to stay more than 50 feet away from their children when they are taking a stroke. Spectators are allowed to carry drinks, food, umbrellas, and towels for players. Spectators are not allowed to give advise. Advice is punishable by assessing a player a two stroke penalty. Spectators may help find balls and monitor play. Every player must carry their own bag. Prep Tour Guidelines The Prep Tour is for Boys ages 12 through 18. Juniors are only able to play the year following there graduation from high school. Juniors are to participate in the same age group thru-ought the summer. After the deadline of Aug. 6th. the player will participate in the older age group for any Fall Junior Golf Events. Juniors may "play up" in age groups. These players are required to play in the older age group for all E.J.G.A. events. They are eligible for the Player of the Year award in the age group in which they have participated. Play under time guidelines. Abide by a ten shot limit. Abide by the U.S.G.A. “Rules of Golf”. Caddies are not allowed in the E.J.G.A. for the prep tour. Pee Wee Tour Guidelines The Pee Wee Tour is for Boys and Girls 5 through 11. The E.J.G.A. considers this of an instructional League. All Pee Wee participants are considered to be beginners and new to the game. They will learn how to play and participate in a tournament environment with proper golf etiquette. We ask that all juniors carry their own bag, but the E.J.G.A realizes that many of the juniors will have problems with keeping pace of play. So, parents may help carrying the players bag. Remember, when they turn twelve they will not get this assistance. Parents are encouraged to teach any aspect of proper golf etiquette. Parents may help and keep score for there child. There is a ten shot limit. Children of 5-6 years of age must be accompanied by a parent. Player of the Year Award At the end of competition of the 2008 Summer Session one boy and girl in each age group will be presented their age group Player of the Year Award.
Ties for first place will be split by western draw or playoff, all other ties will be split equally when a playoff could not be played.
Girls City Championship Ages 12-18 The girls city championship had been temporarily abolished. The future of the tournament will be decided after the spring season. Golf Lesson Information
